             The most beautiful Distraction

I am meant to be preparing for a trip to Auckland tomorrow.
I have forms to complete ,car parking arrangements to make ,book keeping to finalise , pig food to prepare  phone calls to make....oh how I play this procrastination game.

My daughters entered a lip sync completion and decided I should be in the video.
I will say no more about it lest to say that we won the competition and tomorrows flight to Auckland is part of the prize package.
I will write a blog post on our return .
In the meantime if you click the link you should see our entry along with others.Ours is the girl standing in front of the red doors..

ANY WAY Why I was writing this post......

The distraction and subsequent digression from duties was due to a short and simple email from a lovely friend I made on the street in Haarlem,  The Netherlands
A beautiful lady walking her dog and I asked directions. What a lovely friendship now develops.

Today that friend sent a link to an animation she has created, she will release a childrens book in June.

The animation absolutely depicts my friendship with a darling friend that I lost just over a year ago.
I have made a post all on its own of the animation It deserves that...no words needed.
It is that moving.
Here is part of  my reply email to my friend

This made me cry.
Its a funny thing the universe we live in.
I need to tell you a story and why this video is so emotional for me.
Firstly it is such an excellent portrail of friendship.

I lost my dearest friend to cancer in April last year.
Her name was Karen and she was an artist (amongst other things)
She completed many beautiful water colour paintings
and the one thing we did together 2 weeks before she died
was to paint a little oil painting together.
Karen  loved the sea
That was where she went when she got her diagnoses .Her and her husband own a little holiday house by the sea.
Years before Karen became ill I had a major depressive episode
 and was hospitalised.
When I returned home Karen would visit me and I her
We would "Play" as she called it.We made cards and painted we gardened and walked and just played.
She was my best friend.
I miss her terribly. I don't know if you still follow my blog but there is a picture of her and I painting together .Anyway
The video of Bout is Bang (Bout is Afraid)
sums up everything about our friendship.I was born in the year of the rat
..Karen was in love with donkeys.......
We both loved the sea
and sort solace in the ocean waves......
Thank you Thank you so much.

Friendship is so special....
Someone once said to me, Your best friends are the people that have watched your children grow up , watched  them go through all their up's and down's and never judge.

I think friends are the people who let you come over to play and you them ....people that get frustrated with you but don't judge and  still love you and you them... people who encourage you and support your idea's and you theirs people you LOVE.

I need to get back to my work but not before I share the video of the animation with you.
The book is out  in June through Amazon. I will keep you posted. It is a wonderful depiction of friendship.

Friends can help each other. A true friend is someone who lets you have total freedom to be yourself - and especially to feel. Or, not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at the moment is fine with them. That's what real love amounts to - letting a person be what he really is.
